You Knew It Was Coming.

April 8,2015

I am beginning to believe that my brain has begun to decay as a result of the cold, damp weather that has decided to call this part of Canada "home". As a direct result of "brain rot" I have failed to motivate myself to  produce the type of results for the "Wordless Wednesday" on Tuesday, that would normally make me proud..... or at the very least quite pleased.

With that disclaimer behind me I will proceed. The topic that comes most easily to mind would, of course, be Easter.

My sweet hubby surprised me on Saturday morning with this gorgeous Easter arrangement.  I am such a sucker for beautiful flowers and this group is no exception.

As is our tradition, our family gathers for a very informal brunch. It is usually the first time since Christmas that we have been together. Although we do not do a "sit down" meal..... I tried, but in our democratic family  I was voted down....I made a token attempt at providing appropriate "atmosphere".  They, on the other hand, are more interested in the content of the meal than on  ambiance.

After all was said and done.... or at least eaten and finished... I remembered the cookies that my grand daughter and her friend helped me make on Saturday.  I apologize for the  lack of  magazine quality photo  that we produced, but not for the memories that were made with the making of said cookies.
Also, it needs to be noted that the recipe for these delights  was obtained from my sister's blog at Older Mommy Still Yummy. I have made "frogs" for many years but  this recipe varied somewhat from mine and for that I am very grateful! The cookies were soft and delicious and are currently gone!

I must admit, as always, I enjoy the company of our adult children and our beautiful chocolate fueled grandchildren.

  1. Looks like you all had a fabulous Easter brunch. Sitting at the table has it's place, but honesty, nothing compares to curling up on the couch with your third cup of coffee! Love the photos, the eggs in the bowl are gorgeous!

    1. Thanks, Monica, realistically it is about relaxation and conversation and that happens (for us) more naturally just sitting around the family room.

    1. Christy, Monica has been blogging for much longer than I have. As I recently (1 1/2 yrs ago) retired I have been trying my hand at it. OMSY and Monica are my blog-heros and she is my "go-to" person when I have (silly, stupid and otherwise) questions. There is actually one more "of us". Our sister Kathy White who has a blog on Myotonic Dystrophy.

    1. That is so cool,Jessica. I did an A-Z Challenge one time and the topic was Spices. It seemed to fit naturally, and was a learning experience for me. Glad you stopped by. Heading to your site now.
