Is It the Right Time ?

March 11,2015

Living on the east coast of Canada as I do, we experience time changes twice a year.  On Sunday at approximately 0200 hours our time...or rather our clocks... moved ahead one hour. This is known as Daylight Saving Time. The idea, initially during the first world war, was that it would be an energy saving idea.  We would not be sleeping through an hour of precious sunlight. Now, however, it is being debated as more and more research indicates that our bodies suffer from this 60 minute loss. Apparently there have been cardiac issues and road and pedestrian safety is involved.

I,personally, like it as to me it signals the coming of .....dare I say it..... Spring!!

As I was at a loss for pictures for my Wordless ( guess that part is lost) Wednesday I decided to take a couple of views of a rather unique clock that was given to me as a gift. I apologize for the  composition of the photos but at least you get the idea. Enjoy.

Question: Are you for or against time changes to accommodate daylight hours?

  1. I like that it is close to spring but my body suffers from the loss. I'd rather be awaken by birds chirping than by sunshine. :)

  3. Love the clock. It is dark when I go to work instead of daylight. I miss that.

    1. Thanks, Karren, Fortunately it has been very sunny the last couple of days, so that alleviates some of the damage done by the change. Have a great week!

    1. Isn't it weird, I hate losing sleep but it's a trade off for having daylight after 7 pm. Have a great week.

  9. I wish we didn't have to adjust our clocks twice a year. The sun's natural course extends the daylight as we approach summer anyhow and that's what I love about the spring change the glorious extended sunlight. I always look forward to the winter solace because after that the days grow a wee bit longer each day. Oh well, setting our clocks forward insure we do get that extra hour from the sun's glow to make our evenings more enjoyable. Happy #WW!

  10. I guess I've ajusted to the spring and fall change. It always takes me a week or so for my body to come in agreement with the change. If they stopped it today I'd have no problem with it. I think it's more for economic reasons-the longer it stays light the more money people will spend because they are out in the daylight.

  11. even though it's hard to adjust at first, i like that it stays light outside longer in the evenings--there are things i want to do when i get home from work that i just can't do in the dark! :)
