Since this is Nurses Week, I am taking the opportunity to send wishes to all Nurses everywhere, but am particularly sending happy wishes to my sisters.
All three of the "Kelly Girls" became "mature students" and worked together for many years in the same facility. It was always nice to meet them in the corridors at coffee breaks or coming to and from work.
We are all retired now and still enjoy coffee breaks and meeting each other..... just no time constraints now!!

Just a note of interest. We also had 5 aunts who were nurses, so it is almost in our genetic makeup!
Thanks to Monica for having these pics on hand
That is so fun that you were all nurses at the same spot! Very cool! Happy Nurses Week :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, and yes, it was very cool!
DeleteNurses are wonderful :) Great post, and great photos!

Thank-you so much, Sarah. Appreciate your comment.
DeleteHappy Nurses week to you too. Mom was so proud of us and Dad would have been, too.

DeleteThank you so much, Sharon. Nice to hear from you!
DeleteAt least in those white uniforms you look like nurses, today I have trouble telling a nurse from an orderly. I do so wish they would go back to whites.

Jo, you and my husband share the same ideas... Those pics were taken a number of years ago, when we graduated. ( 26 yrs for me). I worked psychiatry for the last 8 yrs and was req'd to wear "street clothes" as it was felt that the "clients" would be more relaxed.... worked for me, but we had name cards clipped to our clothes.
Deletewhile doctors almost always rub me the wrong way (not literally, of course), i've never met a nurse that wasn't kind. :)
ReplyDeleteAahh, Grace, that's because you are soooo sweet!!! I have to say I have met a few, but the majority by far, were kind and gentle people.... I believe that's why they/we chose that profession!! Have a wonderful day.:-)
DeleteHappy Nurses Week to you!
ReplyDeleteWhen I had my son, the hospital nurse was really the one there for me (and what a wonderful woman). The Doc showed up in the last minute, when the baby was just about out. Nurses are some of the most wonderful people in the world. I hugged mine when I left the hospital.
I so admire nurses and the profession. I could name so many, and I almost became one myself. Happy Nurses Week!
