Wordless Wednesday

February 4,2015

Several Shades of Grey..... and White

Anyone who knows  me knows  that doing anything "wordlessly" is next to impossible, but I am going to try very hard to keep my words brief!

In this part of Atlantic Canada we are next to the beautiful Bay of Fundy, that for the most part, moderates our climate. When it is  hot in the summer, it is less so on the coast. Likewise when the mercury tickles arctic lows we are comparatively "frosty"!This is one example of good ole Jack's artistry.

The last few days, however, "moderate" does not describe the snowfall accumulation that has taken residence in our city. I'm talking snowbanks that obliterate the "STOP" signs! Honestly, and although I dared not slow down to capture evidence on my cell phone, you will have to take my word.

The wind howls and the snow comes in waves..... literally. Check out this  breaking wave outside our door.

The late day shadows play across the  wind blown mounds of snow.

I have been outside for longer than I care to be but someone has to relocate the  mini alps and the snow blower only does so much. Another view from the inside looking out.

Current weather forecast: Blizzard warning with 30-50 cm of snow expected. This is the 3rd  storm this week!!

So about now you should be grabbing a mug of hot chocolate.... or other beverage of you choice... and thanking the snow-gods for sparing you!

  1. Wow! I can imagine if it was like that here in London UK the place would come to a standstill in fact any type of weather brings it to a standstill LOL

Lovely photos especially the first and last ones.

    1. You know the saying "be careful what you wish for" LOl Actually it is to be expected if you live in this part of the world. If snow is all I have to complain about, then I am a fortunate person! Tks for stopping by.

  8. I really want to take some macro shots of ice crystals on glass, but have yet to get a good opportunity. Here in the Tennessee Valley, we have gotten some nasty cold temps and yet as I said the right time hasn't present itself for me to snap some pix. Oh well, nice to meet you through the #WW hop.

  18. I can certainly see why you would not complain, Grace, I would have been quite content with a couple of "snow fluffies", but now just have to deal with this.... I so enjoy your posts and look fwd to them all the time.

  19. Awesome pictures Pat, love that you did them in B&W. It was certainly a week to remember, I'm sure we will all reminisce about these few days for years to come.

  20. Thanks , Monica. It was indeed a week to remember. Actually those pics were not done in b&w, but taken as a normal pic.... just turned out that way.... the kind of day it was, ;-) One advantage of living where we do, is that there is never a shortage of topics. and the weather is always at the top.
