I am fortunate to live in a city that is steeped in history. I love the architecture in old cities and this one does not disappoint.
Sometimes, however, I wonder what was on the mind of the architect when this lovely door was hung.
Great detail in the panels of the door, but looks like the steps were forgotten!!
Stepping back a bit we see the bigger picture. Boy, I sure hope no one sleep walks and takes a step out that door as the first step would be ..... hmmm, what word would you use??!!
Holy cow, thats crazy to have a door to no where!

That was my thought too, Karren... Tks for dropping by.
DeleteI guess they didn't want a window, but it does look odd, and I prefer natural light, so windows are a must. Thanks for the fun of the photos! - Amanda's Books and More
ReplyDeleteI am with you, Christina, love natural light and have plenty of glass in doors and windows!!
DeleteBlimey that could be dangerous LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a laddertastic week ;-)
Hey,Steve, you sure are point on with that one!!
DeleteIt's certainly a conversion point.
ReplyDeleteI see it as the original window got broken, and they had a door but no money to buy a new window. The door was the best way to replace the window.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting and compassionate view....good for you Danielle!
DeleteI don't want a window to the world, I want a door! Ha ha ha, so weird!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a positive and pro active attitude! Way to go,Karly!
DeleteYikes, that is one big step! Great photo, I LOVE it Pat!
ReplyDeleteThanks,Monica. Another of my Saint John finds..... such a unique and picturesque city.
DeleteThat door is beautiful..I wonder if it is ever opened these days. I hope not. Anyone who steps out will have a tragic end! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly,Judy..... and you're most welcome, I love doing it!
DeleteHmmm, not sure what to make of the location, but your shot of it is cool.

DeleteCool door...interesting placement..LOL
ReplyDeleteFood for thought anyway. Makes one wonder, Mrsteeh.
DeleteAs a parent, that would totally freak me out. Though I do find it kind of cool looking from the outside!
ReplyDeleteHoly Mackeral,Theresa, that's just what I was thiinking.... then I tried to stop as it made my heart race!!!!LOL
DeleteIt is a very cool looking door. It almost looks like there may have been a porch (or whatever it would be called) right there. I'm looking at the white-ish line under the door. Hope it is blocked from the inside now though
ReplyDeleteHey,Kewkew, I totally agree. That's what I think when I try to calm myself worrying about it...tks for visiting.
DeleteNow that's a good one! Aloha!
ReplyDeleteGee, thanks, hula-la, glad you stopped by!
DeleteLooks strange but interesting at the same time. Wonder if they wanted it as a single story building, but changed their mind at some point.
ReplyDeleteNot really sure, Silvia, but great material for photo-ops,for sure. Saw lots of others capturing the same thing!
