Wordless Wednesday ~ w~ Linky

                                                BEAUTIFUL REFLECTIONS

It's a December WW ( actually it's Tuesday) but since I'm trying to be like the other "eager beavers" out there I have to get a jump start on my post!

There is a subtle message with this one which I will explain at the end of the post.

I took this photo this week end while playing with 2 of our 4 grandchildren.  I was looking for something different.  The kids, aged 7 and 6, were experimenting with a trio of Christmas ornaments that they found on a table  and moving them to various places around the house. After finding the "perfect place, Nana" I was summoned to "check it out"!! What I found was, yes, some pretty colors reflected from the little ornaments, but their joy and exhilaration was what impressed me most.
The simple act of taking the time to see the world through the eyes of children, especially at this magical time of year, was humbling and eye opening.  A lot of what I put myself through... the decorations, the shopping, the trying to constantly meet  expectations, being acutely aware of budget constrictions, has for the most part totally exhausted me!  Now here are two little children who are absolutely delighted by the changing colors of plastic ornaments and how the colors are reflected.  I try absorbing some of their energy and even a bit of their enthusiasm.

I am aware of the less than perfect quality that is displayed with this picture, but I am much more aware of the fact that I need to step back, take a deep breath and appreciate, on a daily basis, what this season is all about and what truly matters.

It is also about how something small and ordinary can cast a big beautiful reflection if we only take the time.....and most importantly..... the effort to  just LOOK!
